How to Enroll
Courses By Grade
You can use the guide below to help you determine which course level your student should take. New students are required to take the Language Arts/English and Math placement tests. An ARVS teacher will review the test results and other test information you may have to determine your child's course level.

Please be aware that course level assignments and grade level assignments are not always the same. The K12 placement tests are used to determine course level assignments. ARVS assigns students to a grade level at their local school district based on age and/or previous public school classification unless notified by the local school district of a grade level retention or advancement.

* You will notice that middle school courses are not listed by grade. While courses for elementary school are grade specific, "Middle School" courses should be taken based on a student's knowledge of a specific subject. For example, depending on previous experience, a student in sixth grade could take either Pre-Algebra A or Pre-Algebra B. The placement tests for Math and Language Arts will help you determine your student's level of background knowledge; for other courses, please see the Course Preparation Guide below to see which course to take.
